History

1935

  • ​​Paşabahçe factory began production in Beykoz, manufacturing traditional pieces such as Çeşm-i Bülbül glassware as well as contemporary tableware, using handcrafting techniques and semi-automated machinery. Handcrafting was continued at the Paşabahçe factory until 1993.

1973

  • ​The current Denizli Glass Factory was established under the name Şirintaş at Şirinköy 7 km to the west of Denizli.

1983

  • ​Şirintaş was designated a state economic enterprise under Turkish development bank.

1984

  • ​Sales expanded to cover the entire domestic market.

1985

  • First sales made to foreign markets.

1988

  • The second furnace started up.

1994

  • The publicly owned 51% shares of the company were bought by Şişecam en block on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, making Şirintaş a part of Paşabahçe Group of Companies.

1995

  • Modernization of all processing equipment began. Production increased by 64%. Crystal production taken over from Paşabahçe Factory. First crystalware produced.
  • First colored glass produced.

1996

  • A special furnace put in to production making the glass sticks used in the manufacture of chandelier crystals.

1997

  • Production of TSE 6500 standard ‘crystalline’ glass began.

1998

  • TSE - ISO-EN 9002 quality certification received. First Çeşm-i Bülbül produced.

1999

  • Certificate of compliance with Turkish standards received for crystal products.

2000

  • First free-form pieces produced.

2005

  • Factory converted to natural gas in October 2005.
  • Handcrafted products marketed at home and abroad under the “Denizli” brandname.

2006

  • EISO 9001-2000 version quality management system certificate renewed in october.

2007

  • f&d brand launched, adding elegant handmade crystal products from wine carafes, pitchers and small decanters to cigar ashtrays to the Denizli range.

2010

  • Colored glass production enhanced, a total of 60 different color compositions achieved in Denizli products.
